GENERAL PROJECT

Sharpness Point Rising Main

Working with our framework partners, Esh-Stantec, Northumbrian water will be carrying out work to replace a failing pumping main from Sharpness Point Pumping Station to Percy Park, Tynemouth.

Update by Rachel Rutter

Good morning,

I hope you are all well

As mentioned previously due to the weather conditions, the landscaping was delayed until April 2023. We have been closely monitoring the soil suitability to landscape since temperatures started to rise in March. Our landscaping contractor attempted to complete the reinstatement on Friday 21 April 2023, however, it was not completed due to the soil saturation below the surface. They then continued to monitor the situation, unfortunately, we’ve had a few days of rain and not enough sunshine and warmth to dry the soil sufficiently for rotavating.

The landscaper has visited site on Wednesday 3 May 2023 and advised us that the soil is still too wet. This remains our priority and it will be monitored and landscaped as soon as we get the weather window to complete. I’d like to thank you once again for your understanding and patience which is very much appreciated. Our team will update the portal once we have been advised of a new date.

Please contact us direct if you have any questions at nwl.customer@esh.uk.com or 0191 3774500.

Thank you

Rachel
