Update by Rachel Rutter

Good afternoon,

Hope you are all having a lovely week.

As you are aware we have been closely monitoring the soil suitability in order for the landscapers to complete their work. I am please to confirm this was carried out on Friday 19 May 2023.

Please be mindful it may take several months before the seed fully takes and begins to blend with the surrounding grass.

I’d like to thank you once again for your understanding and patience which is very much appreciated.

Please contact us direct if you have any questions at nwl.customer@esh.uk.com.

Thank you

Good morning,

I hope you are all well

As mentioned previously due to the weather conditions, the landscaping was delayed until April 2023. We have been closely monitoring the soil suitability to landscape since temperatures started to rise in March. Our landscaping contractor attempted to complete the reinstatement on Friday 21 April 2023, however, it was not completed due to the soil saturation below the surface. They then continued to monitor the situation, unfortunately, we’ve had a few days of rain and not enough sunshine and warmth to dry the soil sufficiently for rotavating.

The landscaper has visited site on Wednesday 3 May 2023 and advised us that the soil is still too wet. This remains our priority and it will be monitored and landscaped as soon as we get the weather window to complete. I’d like to thank you once again for your understanding and patience which is very much appreciated. Our team will update the portal once we have been advised of a new date.

Please contact us direct if you have any questions at nwl.customer@esh.uk.com or 0191 3774500.

Good afternoon,

We wrote to you on 21 October 2022 regarding the work at Sharpness Point and I wanted to provide a further update.

As a result of recent weather conditions, the landscaping of the area has been delayed as the ground is unlikely to dry out and the temperatures are unlikely to rise enough for seed germination. We are aiming for the landscaping work to be completed by April 2023. I’d like to thank you once again for your understanding and patience which is very much appreciated.

Please contact us direct if you have any questions at nwl.customer@esh.uk.com or 0191 3774500.

Good afternoon,

Following our work to replace a sewage main within the area the good news is that we have completed the replacement work which has included:

  • The installation of around 400 metres of new sewer pipe from Sharpness Point Sewage Pumping Station to Percy Park.
  • The installation of a new flow meter at the Sewage Pumping Station.
  • Concrete installed in the Pumping Station chamber for the connection of the new pipe and the rearrangement of the pipework inside.
  • Demolition of the existing air valve chamber in Percy Park, construction of a new chamber and the installation of a new air valve.

We have completed all construction work and commissioned the new pipe but there are some reinstatement areas we will return to complete.

A permanent tarmac reinstatement of the trenches within the roads is planned to be completed in November 2022. Grass seeding in Percy Park (where the site compound was located) and the working area around the Pumping Station at Sharpness Point will be completed and re-checked in Spring 2023.
