The Stanners Warkworth

Northumbrian Water is looking to investing £700,000 to improve the resilience and enhance the performance of the sewer network in Warkworth Village Northumberland.

Update by Ian Davison

Hi All

A big thank you for your patience last week when we were resurfacing Dial Place, apologies that the closure extended overnight into the Wednesday. The surfacing was retaining its heat and not "going off" as the ambient temperatures were too hot. As a result we were unable to put traffic onto the new road until early the follow morning, quite ironic given the winter we experienced.

The temporary fencing at the east end of Monks Walk has been removed returning full access for the residents and visitors to enjoy the defensive gateway and the wonderful bridge.

Whilst the first phase of the reinstatement was underway the sewer installation works have continued. The engineering challenges remain however, Steve and his team are making good progress installing about 12m per week. We hope to have the sewer installation complete week commencing 8th July.

Please have a look at the most recent photos and have a great weekend enjoying the ongoing sunny weather.
