Northumbrian Water is looking to investing £700,000 to improve the resilience and enhance the performance of the sewer network in Warkworth Village Northumberland.
LOOKING AFTER THE ENVIRONMENT IS ONE OF OUR TOP PRIORITIES. AS PART OF THIS COMMITMENT WE ARE DEVELOPING A PROPOSAL TO ENSURE THAT OUR SEWER NETWORK CONTINUES TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY EFFECTIVELY WHILST IMPROVING THE ENVIRONMENT THAT WE ALL WANT TO PROTECT.
Over the coming months we will investigate options to address a potential environmental risk, this project will improve the performance of the sewer network serving the village. As the project develops we will share our ideas with you to understand your views about this work and how we can minimise any disruption that you and your community may experience once the work is underway.
We have identified an opportunity to carry out a sewer diversion, construct a new pumping main and protect The Stanners Pumping Station from river erosion. The project team are developing these proposals working towards commencing construction in February 2018. Please see ‘Planned works tab’ where a sketch of the notional solution is posted.
