Update by Ian Davison
Hi All
I have some great news !! we are rapidly approaching completion of our works within the village. On Monday the remainder of the tarmac surfacing works were completed and the site team is working tirelessly to have the site clear for the start of the school summer holidays.
Over the next couple of days we hope to have ground out the tree stumps along the riverside path, replaced the top soil, seeded and planted some shrubs. We plan to remove all fencing and open up the footpath and car parking bays by tea time on Friday. The lifting of the site cabins can be a tricky exercise therefore we have planned to undertake their removal early on Friday morning, the timing of this task is to help us manage site safety and ensure the site is clear before the visitors start to arrive. You may have noticed that we have planted some trees around the village to replace those removed along Monks Walk, these will look really well once fully established.
It’s been a privilege to work in your wonderful village. This has been a project with several difficult engineering challenges, Michael, Stephen and their site team have worked hard to ensure any disruption has been kept to a minimum. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for your patience and understanding while this work has been ongoing, especially those who have been directly affected by these works your co-operation has been really appreciated.
Thanks Again
Ian
