University Sewage Treatment Works Growth Upgrade

Upgrading the capacity of the sewage treatment works to meet the increased number of customers in the area due to additional new housing and student accommodation. Our sewage treatment works aid NWG in improving the quality of rivers and coastal waters for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife.

What will the working hours be?

8am-5pm.

Will my water supply be affected?

No.

Will the work cause disruption?

Yes. Our vehicles will be using the Hollingside Lane access track that we recently resurfaced.

Will access to my property be maintained?

Yes.

How will residents be kept updated?

Monthly updates by the project team shall be posted on the community portal.

Will the site be dangerous?

All work will be carried out within the existing sewage works which is not open to the public. While our vehicles are using the access track, they will keep to a safe speed limit and we will use signs to remind members of the public to be aware of vehicles.

What will it look like when the works are complete?

There will be no obvious change.

Will there be dust, vibration and noise?

We will expect some noise to be generated during the work. We will keep noisy work restricted to the hours of 8am-5pm.

Will the roads be kept clean during the works?

The access track will be kept to the exisiting condition that it is in.

What happens on bin collection days if the bin wagon can not get to my property?

The bin wagon will be able to access your property at all times.

Will I be able to access my drive or directly park outside my property?

Yes.
