Update by Joan Tatters

Good Morning,

Before this second lockdow kicks in I thought I'd send you some photos of the work from last week. Unfortunately I won't be around for the next month (for obvious reasons) but please feel free to contact me. Gary and the team will continue working on site, being key workers, so if you see them when you are out and about please give them a wave.

Morning All,

Sorry I didn't get an update on last week I was on holiday, however here we go for this week:-

Treatment Building          -         You will have seen the steel frame is shooting up and the roof is almost complete. All the grouting is complete to the column work and the bricklayers have started the block work.

Contact Tank                    -         The team are just doing the finishing touches to the upstand and the security covers are just about complete. The subbies are now preparing the water proofing..

WW Settlement Tank       -          Now in a position to start filling it with water for testing.

Industrial Estate              -          Tarmac work will commence tomorrow as well as long the B6525, 135 linear metres. The manhole will be installed and we can break into the existing one for connection and we will continue with the pipe work again along the B6525 and the traffic lights have and will continue to move along accordingly.

A massive amount of progress over these last two weeks and I have got to say the new Treatment Building looks impressive.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding whilst we have the traffic lights on, we do appreciate it. Please feel free to ask us any questions you may have.

Hello,

Just to let you know of the change of entrance to the site, we need to remove the temporary arrangement now.

The local council was out yesterday checking everything was in place and correct for the highway standards so we are good to go. Tarmacing will take place Thursday and Friday this week which means the traffic lights will remain for a little while longer.

Watch out for the steel work for the new building being erected later this week too, I will of course keep you posted.

I am out and about today if you want to say hello!

Good Afternoon,

This week you may notice the team are working near to and within the farmers field adjacent to the site, the local farmer kindly agreed for us to use part of the land for storage as the pipe works progress. A huge THANK YOU from us.

There are some planned excavations into the industrial estate this week however it's likely to be the latter end of the week, I will of course confirm later.

Just a gentle reminder once again about the 2 way traffic lights please be that little more vigilant.

Thanks again for your co-operation

Good Morning

Hope you had a great long weekend.

The road signs are now complete including the 30mph one at the north end of the B road and all is back to normal there. Whilst the weather last week wasn't great, Gary's team have cracked on and are still on programme.

Just a gentle reminder the 3 way traffic lights will go on Friday 4th until Monday 7th Sept across the B6525, so please be that little more vigilant. The trial holes shouldn't take much time and those businesses into the Industrial estate please don't worry should you need access over the weekend our guys will be working, so should you need to approach them for assistance please feel free, social distancing of course.

Don't forget if you have any questions about the project please ask away.

Good Afternoon,

Hope storm Francis isn't causing too much problem to you all.

I've been out and about again (yes why oh why in this weather) just to let the industrial estate businesses know about our intentions for next week.

On Friday 4th September we will be conducting trial holes in the industrial estate to help us determine the road and ground conditions for the new treatment works. This work will take place on the junction of Redpath Tyres and McLaren Engineering and whilst we will be working on the B6525 at the same time we will be introducing traffic lights which will remain in operation until close of business Monday 7th September.

Working over the weekend has been a conscious effort to hopefully lessen the impact to all the surrounding businesses during this work.

We will however need to continue working within the estate for approximately three weeks heading towards the river to install the mains water pipe. Whilst our presence will be obvious, we will endeavor to keep our impact to a minimum.

We would just like to reassure you that access to the industrial estate will always be maintained and the water supply to your premises will not be affected during this time.

Don't forget if you want to ask any questions about the project please feel free.

Stay safe.......
