Project updates

Update by Gabrielle Ward

Good afternoon,

Just following on from our recent letter that has been sent out in the post, I wanted to post a quick update of what to expect over the upcoming weeks.

From Monday 7th November, we will be starting to set up our site compound which is going to be situated along Aislaby Road. I have attached a map which gives you an idea of where the site compound location will be. Please be aware that during the next few weeks, we are expecting a higher volume of deliveries than usual which will access our compound area via Aislaby Road while we get set up. During this time, we would like to kindly ask you to stay safe by keeping extra vigilant when using this stretch of road. For the first few weeks, our team will be based out of an all-in-one unit until the site cabins are delivered.

The first stages of our construction work will be taking place around the Aislaby Road area however, I will be posting regular updates with more information on our planned work and deliveries.

I have attached a copy of the letter here.

Thanks.

Gaby

Hello,

I hope you’re all keeping well. I’d like to begin by thanking you for your patience as it’s been a while since my last update.

With any work of this nature unexpected delays can occur and since our customer event held locally in December 2021 – when we got to meet some of you personally - we have been working towards a definite start date to install the new underground pipe.

Subject to agreement with local land owners, the work – albeit later than first planned – the work will begin later this year.

Once a firm start date has been agreed, we will communicate that date and how the work may affect you by post and also provide regular updates here.

Again, thank you for your patience and we look forward to working in your community.

Thanks.

Gaby

Good afternoon,

I hope you’re all well and had a lovely weekend.

I’d like to apologise that it’s been a while since you last heard from us. As mentioned in my previous update, unexpected delays can sometimes occur however, we would let you know when we have a better idea of a start date.

The project is currently under review, with the aim of starting on site around mid-June. Please be aware, this is subject to change, and we will let you know when we have a confirmed start date.

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment below and a member of the project team will get back to you.

We appreciate your patience during this time, and we look forward to starting work in your area soon.

Take care,

Gaby

Update by Peter Greenan

Hi, Apologies we've not provided updates on this Project for some time but we are working towards progressing to construction early in 2022 (subject to business approval) and we will publish the  likely construction period here once this is known. We will write to customers who may be impacted more directly by the proposed pipeline shortly. You may see some activities on site in the next few months and these will include excavating trial trenches to confirm exisiting services.  I hope this information is OK for now but if not or you have any other queries then please post here. Thanks for your time. Peter

Hi

Just a brief update to let everyone know that this project is currently being reviewed (including the scope of the work that is planned); this means that construction is unlikely to start  in April, as estimated previously.  Once the review is complete and we are more confident of scope and programme we'll provide an update.

Thanks

Peter

Update by Peter Greenan

Hi, My name is Peter Greenan and I am Northumbrian Water Project Manager for the Aislaby Road Rising Main Project.  The project involves replacing approximately 1 mile of  failing pumped main from Aislaby Road Pumping Station to Allens West, Eaglescliffe.  The main carries sewage from Yarm and the majority of Eaglescliffe.  We are currently confirming construction estimates and the overall projects cost will be approximately £2 million.  Construction is not planned until April 2020.   The route of the new main is in fields and grassed areas and crosses both Aislaby Road and the A67.  We would like to let customers know what the work consists of in more detail and seek their views at the same time.  We will write to customers in the near future letting them know how they can find further details of what is planned and how to provide feedback.  In the meantime, if you have any queries then please feel free to post them here.
