GENERAL PROJECT
CURRENT WEATHER

Durham Road, Spennymoor

We are upgrading the sewer network. This will increase the resilience and reliability of the network and will involve up sizing 240 meters of existing sewer pipe in the area of Wood Vue and the nearby Cow Plantation Nature Reserve. We will work closely with the local authority regarding the reinstatement of the nature reserve when the works are completed.

Project updates

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

I've been in touch with Darren from site for an update on progress this week.

As you've probably seen, we've now permanently reinstated the Northern half of Wood Vue (nearest the Cow Plantation). We thank you for your patience while we completed this work earlier this week. We will now continue up the road, moving the rolling road closure as we go.

Work has also been progressing in the Cow Plantation - I've attached a picture of the Combined Sewer Overflow(CSO) we've been working on - this is designed to help reduce the risk of flooding in the future. We will continue working on this next week.

I will be in touch with those directly impacted by our work in the coming weeks

Regards

Tony

Hello again

I was down in Spennymoor again today as the site team have arranged some work for next week for Wood Vue. I have spoken to most of the residents in that half of the street to explain. We will be permanently reinstating Wood Vue from approximately where we are now, to the end of the road. This means we will scrape out the temporary surfacing currently in place on Monday 29 Janaury 2018 and then lay permanent tarmac there on Tuesday 30 January 2018. We will then continue past the football club to the other end of the road. A copy of the letter informing residents can be found here.

Hope you have a good weekend

Good afternoon

I have been down to Spennymoor today to try and inform those on Wood Vue who will be impacted when we move our fencing next. On Friday 26 January 2018 our fencing will move further up Wood Vue. A letter which includes a map indicating the approximate location of the fencing can be found here. We expect this stage to be completed within 2 weeks.

Regards

Hi Everyone

Despite the snowy conditions this week, the lads on site have been working away as hard as ever and are making good progress.

We're surfacing where we're currently working today and plan to move the fenced area further up Wood Vue on Monday.

I've been out trying to notify the residents affected by the move - please find a copy of the information here - this includes a plan showing the approximate location.

We should be moving again within a week or so, so I will be out again very soon!

Have a good weekend

Hello everyone and Happy New Year,

As you will of seen our site team are back.  Tony Birkett will be out this week to provide an update.

In the meantime we have received drawings from Kings Road Primary School, which we are currently judging as our Health and Safety posters for the site fencing.

They are of a very high standard which is making the judging quite difficult.  We will update you once we have decided.

See you all soon

Hi Everyone

In my last update, I mentioned that we were planning on moving our working area further up Wood Vue today. As you will no doubt have noticed, that has been delayed. This is due to the adverse weather conditions we are currntly experiencing. We will endeavour to make progress when we are able to and will keep you updated.

Wrap up, its cold out there!
