Project updates

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

I have been on my travels today and visited the site to talk to the team about progress.

We recently communicated to residents impacted by our work in Wood Vue that we would be moving the fencing further up the road. We have since spoken to those involved to explain that this will now happen on Monday 11 December. We apologise in for any inconvenience caused.

We would also like to take this opportunity to share some information about the work we are carrying out, so I have attached a copy of an informative poster that we have prepared. Please click here to view.

Enjoy the weekend

Good morning,

I managed to catch up with Mac this morning to discuss our site progress.  He agreed to go on video and provide an update for us all.

We also want to apologise for the delay in moving our rolling road closure, we advised it would happen today however this will now happen later in the week.  This delay is due to us redesigning our scheme to reduce customer impact later in the scheme.

Have a great week and weekend

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

Work is underway! It may appear to be a slow start, but rest assured we have all been working very hard to get the scheme well under way. This week we have been digging trial holes to investigate the ground beneath the surface and see what other utilities we may encounter.

Over the last couple of weeks we have also been tinkering with the design to not only make it as efficient as possible for the Northumbrian Water, but also to try and further reduce the impact the works will have on the residents. An example of this is the manhole we are connecting into where we have worked alongside our partners MWH and come up with a solution meaning we can keep Wood Vue open at all times.

Next week will see us start to make progress in Wood Vue, beginning to work up the road.

From Monday we will also be closing the access into the cow plantation. The initial work taking place will be the widening of the access track and lifting of the tree canopies.

I thought it would be good to introduce another member of my team who people don't get to see, but we all speak to her regularly.  If you are anything like me, it is always great to put a face to a name.

This lovely lady is Ann Scott.  Ann sits in our office answering any customer enquiries that may come into the business and supports the team on a daily basis.

See you all soon
