Project updates

Update by Joan Tatters

Good Afternoon

This afternoon you will receive a postcard from us! It's to let you know on Monday and possibily Tuesday of next week we will be closing the access at the North end of Bickford Terrace. We need to do some further ground investigations as we have come across concrete we believe is further within the network than first anticipated; we need to conduct some triholes to determine its exact location.

To keep the disruption to a minimum, the opposite end of the terrace will remain open as normal but please be that little more vigilant during this time.

We apologise for this convenience and we really do appreciate your patience and understanding during our work.

Don't forget just drop me a line or ask any of the Site Team if you have any enquiries.

Hello,

Jamie and I would just like to thank the residents of Bickford Terrace for their time and kindness yesterday. We managed to speak to the majority of you however, for those we didn't, we would just like to let you know there will be traffic management on from tomorrow commencing by the entrance of 3M along Heighington Lane towards the roundabout. These will move along the lane until Christmas when they will be taken off so you can enjoy the festivities peacefully. (from 23 December until 4 January)

Apologies in adavance of this while we conduct these works but rest assured we will endeavour to keep the disruption to a minimum.

I will update you of our developments right up to Christmas on a regular basis so please if you have any questions please let me know.

Thanks

Hello

Just a brief update as to what's going on.

This afternoon you will see some traffic management along Heighington Lane as we need to cut back some trees so we have clear access to the road for the forthcoming work.

By the end of this week and into next week we will be conducting some trial pits along the lane which will last for approximately 2 days,  shortly followed by the main drainage work towards St Andrews Way. Please bear with us as we carry out this essential work.

Tomorrow Jamie and I will be talking to the residents of the area to keep them in the picture so if you see us please come and say Hello or ask us any questions you may have about the project we would love to hear from you.

Good morning,

Just a quick update. As suggested perviously, due to ongoing road works at Newton Park Services, we had delayed our start on site to minimise disruption around the services. As a result, the planned drainage work on Heighington Lane and St Andrews Way will be starting a week later than anticipated.

The high level schedule of works and traffic updates have been amended to suit the latest programme and we now expect to start on Hieghington Lane on Tuesday 14 November. Initially we will be completing  trial pits along the road to confirm the precise location of key buried services and hope to be in a position to commence drainage work later next week.

Good Afternoon,

This morning I visited our site (by A167) and it was very clear everything was going as planned the site was neat and tidy focussing on Health & Safety as normal.

Admittedly the surrounding road works doesn't make great viewing it can only be described as a building site however, it is clear DCC are also progressing with their work and I'm sure will be complete in due course and that will make a huge difference.

Thank you to the Managers at MacDonalds and the Jet Garage for taking time out to talk to me and I'm so pleased they had no issues.

I will visit site every two weeks and send you an update of where we are with the project but don't forget if you want to ask any of us any questions please feel free.

Joan

Good morning,

Given the ongoing road works around the existing Newton Park services, we have taken the decision to delay our start date by one week and we will now be commencing Monday 23 October. This will allow Durham County Council time to complete thier works around the existing access off the A167 and fully commission the new access which will significantly improving traffic flows in and out of the services. The traffic management dates have been changed on the above tabs to reflect the change in start date.

Good afternoon everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that we will be starting work on site on Monday 16 October for a period of up to 8 months constructing a new sewage pumping station and associated pipework to support the ongoing Forrest Park development.

The vast majority of work in the first two weeks will be concentrated adjacent to the ongoing Forrest Park development site. We have added a provisional schedule for planned traffic management on the above ‘Planned work’ and ‘Traffic information’ tabs which we’ll keep updated throughout the construction period.
