NIDP FLOODING PROJECT

Haydon Bridge

We are currently undertaking a Stage Two Northumbria Integrated Drainage Partnership (NIDP) study in Haydon Bridge.

Update by Loren Jennings

My name is Loren Jennings and I am a project manager at Northumbrian Water.  I'm assisting Elaine with this project at Haydon Bridge, and I wanted to give you an update.

Like many things in life, this project has run into some delays due Covid and the restrictions which this has caused.  The positive thing is that engineering studies of flood risk is something that can be continued, even when working from home rather than the office.  The downside, though, is that has become harder to do survey work such as measuring pipes or surveying water courses.  It is really important that we do this accurately so that our study results are as robust a possible.

I will provide a further update once we have finished looking at the areas of flood risk and what we would hope to build in those locations.  You can also ask me questions here by replying to this update!
