Good afternoon, I wanted you to know that I received several questions after my last project update, so I wanted to share some further information with the community. Our project at Haydon Bridge has not stopped due to covid, rather I wanted to emphasize that things have gotten trickier because of covid restrictions. But the project team continues to work really hard.to understand the flood risk and come-up with proposals to address it. The team's current activities are focused on integrating the hydraulic models from the River Tyne, adjoining burns, and the sewer and drainage networks. This is really important because with this we can determine holistically how the proposals will positively affect flood risk. I hope to be able to update you on our proposals in September after we have developed a short list of solutions. The study is expected to be completed in December, at which point we will work with our partners at the Environment Agency and Northumberland County Council to begin to piece together funding which may be required. My name is Loren Jennings and I am a project manager at Northumbrian Water. I'm assisting Elaine with this project at Haydon Bridge, and I wanted to give you an update. Like many things in life, this project has run into some delays due Covid and the restrictions which this has caused. The positive thing is that engineering studies of flood risk is something that can be continued, even when working from home rather than the office. The downside, though, is that has become harder to do survey work such as measuring pipes or surveying water courses. It is really important that we do this accurately so that our study results are as robust a possible. I will provide a further update once we have finished looking at the areas of flood risk and what we would hope to build in those locations. Hi, I'm Elaine Smith, the project manager for the NIDP stage 2 Study in Haydon Bridge. At the moment we have Atlantic Geomatics carrying out survey work in and around the village so that we can update our hydraulic model of the area. They have 27 cross section surveys, bank top survey and 725m of culvert CCTV survey to carry out over the coming weeks. This survey data will then be added to our existing hydraulic model so that we can start to look at potential options for flood risk reduction. We also look forward to meeting Parish Councillors again later this month to provide a project update.
