Lynemouth Sewage Treatment Works Upgrade

We are investing over £3 million to improve storm and preliminary treatment at Lynemouth sewage treatment works to improve the quality of effluent discharging to Lyneburn and meet the demands of an increasing population in the wider catchment. Our sewage treatment works aid NWL in improving the quality of rivers and coastal waters for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife.

Since our last update a lot has been happening on site!

The screw pumps are now complete with the commissioning taking place in August.

Electrical work on site is continuing to progress well.

The Washpress & screen work is due to commence in July with the electrical and mechanical works progressing alongside

50% of the cabin set up will start to be removed by the middle of July with the remaining site de-mobilisation taking place in August. I will be posting an update nearer the time regarding this however, please be aware that large vehicles will be coming to and from site during this time. I'd like to kindly remind you to please take extra care if you are in this area.
