Just a few photos to show you how things have progressed, the surge vessel building is complete now and the team are starting to conduct the reinstating of the surrounding landscape. You will notice it's a little quiet at the moment on site as the guys are just about to conclude the works.

Our colleagues fron NWL will be sending you all an update letter to explain what happens next in the coming months.

Just a quick update of the surge vessel building and it's progress:

• The footpath and the concreting is taking shape
• The gabions have been created
• Our electrical contractor has started the cabling works (plus they have installed new cabling from the pumping station to it
• Bat survey / license complete
• Fencing contractor measure the perimeter for the fencing round the building

Hope you had a good weekend.

Just thought I'd give you a quick up date and pop on some photos of the team taking advantage of the great weather last week.

• The brick and block work round the surge vessel progressed well.
• Access road leading into the over flow car park had all the kerbs repaired.
• In the sub station there was some clearing after the commissioning
• The fencing work speaks for it's self.......looks great.
• The subcontractor did some great metal work in the pumping station
• Tidying and strimming along the footpath

As I say lots of external work taking advantage of our crazy weather.

Well the huge crawler crane has now been removed from the pumping station area............my that was a huge beast!!

I'm guessing you have notice the fencing and the new building being erected in the field west to the pumping station. 

The team have been replacing/renewing the fencing alongside Kitty Burn and our contractor has done a great job. (have a look at the photo)

The building around the surge vessel is progressing and after talking to James he is confident the building will be complete by mid to late June and after which the internal fit will take place. We have tried to keep the look of building in keeping with the environment and I'm sure you will agree it is starting to look good.

You will have noticed there is a large "crawler crane" on site and this Friday 29th it is due to be removed.

This will happen around 11am and there will a disturbance on the main road for approximately an hour during that time. Please take a little more care if you are travelling nearby at that time.

It's been a while since the last up date so i thought I'd give you a brief overview:-

• We have moved into the new grounds "Wylam Pumping Station", this really has created a lot more space for the team as the next phase of planned work The Eel Screens will require us to create more room for subcontractors to conduct their work along side us.
• There has been some cutting back and trimming of some trees to enable us to have access along the river bank, logs have been cut and returned to the landowner.
• Contractors have been working with us on pump 4.
• The ducting and chambers are now complete.
• The surge vessel has now bee installed in the field adjacent to the works.
• Please note there will be a building erected around the surge vessel in the coming weeks.

As the recent weather has been kind to us we have been able to move on quite significantly.

Hello Everyone

I just thought I’d let you know we have now moved into Wylam Pumping Station; it makes sense for us to be in there as there is much more space for us and the subbies who will be joining us in due course.

I would just like to say a further “Hello” to the residents I spoke too last week (along with their lovely dogs) when letting them know about the move.

For now, we will be continuing with the work on the western main in the field opposite Ovingham Road and this week will be starting some duct works from the pumping station down towards Mr Wards field.

Hello everyone, hope you are all keeping well and looking forward to Spring.

I would like to provide a further update on works at Ovingham.  The team are carrying out some additional works on the north side of Ovingham Road near to Kitty's Burn to install surge protection for the mains running to Horsley Water Treatment Works.  These works are well underway and will be complete by June 2022.

Just to let you know the lay-by near the pumping station is now available for use. The team have just moved the cabins down to Wylam in preparation of our pending move into the Northumbrian Water grounds.

Please be aware the walk way will be still be in place for the road crossing arrangement nearby so please be vigilant.
