Project updates

Update by Sarah Jayne Parvin

Good morning All, another quick update as to what’s going on, onsite. The lads have made a start on the gravity sewer pipe, working by the Bridge Keep.

The weather was beautiful last week and I’m sure the riverside would have been full of families visiting, so we would just like to say a big thank you for your understanding and patience while we conduct these works.

Any questions please feel free to ask on here or the site lads will be happy to help!

Thanks

Sarah

Good Afternoon Warkworth

What's going on with this weather, when Sarah and I visited last week we were in shirt sleeves, Wayne showed us round and it was brillant sunshine!!!

Anyway, an update for you....

The main sewer has been successfully diverted into the manhole on Bridge Street which is great progress, we will be working along by the bridge keep for the next few weeks but hopefully will be pulling around the corner out of the public eye. Please be aware the the footpath will remain closed thoughout these works so be a little more aware of the fencing and signs. This crazy weather hasn't helped us during the works however, what I can say the residents and the local businesses have been just fantastic so accommodating we really do appreciate your cooperation.

Don't forget if you want to ask us anything about the project just ask away either via the portal or the site guys, they don't bite.

Hi All

I hope you are all well, I would like to update you with respect to the ongoing £700k investment work in the village.

In July 2017 we started a project aimed at improving the resilience and enhancing the performance of the sewer network in Warkworth.

The majority of the work focused on the protecting the sewerage assets in the vicinity of The Stanners Sewage Pumping Station and riverside path.

Since the project began, and despite facing some challenging weather and conditions, we have successfully completed the installation of 180m of new pumped sewer and this new pipeline is now in operation discharging effluent into the new manhole that was constructed on the gravity sewer in Bridge Street.

The sewer diversion works along the riverside footpath between St Lawrence Terrace and the Gatehouse will begin imminently and we are expecting to have the project finished by June 22nd.

Once complete these works will ensure that the people in Warkworth continue to receive a great performing and resilient sewerage network for years to come.

I would like to again take this opportunity to thank the Warkworth residents for your ongoing help, patience and support during the construction phase of this project.

Hi all

It’s been a nice weekend but the weather appears to have taken a change for the worst, let’s hope it improves for the holiday weekend.

We are progressing well having overcome a problem with a culvert that we did not expect to come across within our excavation down by the river. The new pumped main should be in operation on Wednesday. with a view to commencing the sewer diversionary work after Easter.

To help with visitor parking over the bank holiday weekend we will be we will be taking down signs and removing the cones from the perimeter of the dial place car parking area as well as backfilling the open excavations along Monks walk re-opening the footpath.

To ensure safe access to the site on MMB’s return to work the footpath will again be closed and the parking restrictions re-established. Signage remains in place to direct vehicles to the alternative parking off Beach Road.

Have great Easter weekend

Ian

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I'm so pleased to talk to you with the white stuff around, as you can imagine it has caused us one or two problems along the way. One of those being we had to up sticks and move lock stock and barrel away off site and park the plant for one night in the car park. The recent poor weather, which included a river flood alert,  has resulted in some programme slippage however the anticipated planned completion remains  late May. We will of course endeavour to undertake this work as quickly as we can.The sewer diversion works along the riverside footpath will commence following the commissioning of the rising main. There are engineering difficulties associated with this sewer installation as a result the production rate will be slow and we have planned to achieve 1 pipe per day.

I know Steve, Michael  and the team are keeping you informed with what's happening, however, please drop me a line should you want any further questions answering.

Thank you all for your continual patience.

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you all remain well and warm…! the winter has certainly struck back with a vengeance stay safe out there.

It’s been a couple of weeks since our last update. I am pleased to report that the trenchless installation of the new rising main has gone well and the major works in Dial Place are complete with all of the central parking bays reinstated and available for resident and visitor use. To ensure we can maintain safe access to the working area by the riverside the suspension of the perimeter parking around Dial Place will remain in place. Enforcement action will continue, we would be most grateful if you could refrain from parking on the yellow lines were the road narrows between the church and Abbeyfield House. Our efforts will now be concentrated on the works along the riverbank, we are currently working on the connection of the new rising main to the pumping station down by the disabled parking bays . The sewer diversion along the riverside path planned to commence later in the month.

Have a look at this drone video it will take you to our prestart footage of the village. Its great quality and you may find it of interest. Just click on the link below

Good Morning

Following on from Ian's post I just wanted to confirm the project is progressing really well.

We have decided to update some of the signs around the town to really reinforce the parking arrangements they will be displayed from Monday and we do hope this goes towards easing any further parking uncertainties.

Our site team has made a point of asking me to thank the residents and business owners for their co-operation, our team are very aware their presence isn't "pretty" however they do appreciate your patience. I understand Stephen (works manager) on first name terms with most of you by now!

Don't forget some of the parking restrictions will be relaxed over the weekend, however we do ask the cars parked around The Stanners are removed by 0800hrs Monday morning.

Have a lovely weekend, lets hope this weather improves.

Good Afternoon Everyone

I hope you all remain well, as you will have seen this essential construction work is now well underway. I would like to let you know that the trenchless installation of the rising main (pumped sewer) has gone really well, the pipeline is now installed and currently being tested. We anticipate to have the drive pit, seven parking bays in the central parking area, reinstated early next week. The reception pit, two bays at the junction of Dial Place with Bridge Street, should be available early week commencing 19th February. We will keep you advised of progress

I must reiterate that parking restrictions will remain in place for the duration of this project. Parking around the perimeter of Dial Place is prohibited through the working week, enforcement action is being taken. This is required to ensure that access to the working areas is safely maintained, signage is in place to direct vehicles to the alternative parking off Beach Road.

I am continuing to work with the highways team at Northumberland County Council, we are making every effort to minimise disruption. I would like to thank you again for your patience and understanding while we carry out this work. If you have any queries please feel free to contact me via this portal or by ringing our Customer Contact Centre on 0345 717 1100. I will be pleased to help.

Thanks

Ian
