Project updates

Update by Joan Tatters

Good Morning

Just thought I would do an introduction to the Mott MacDonald Bentley Team (MMB) who will be working on the project.

John Goose       -        Contract Manager

Michael Nelson  -        Site Manager

Stephen Rudkin -        Works Manager

Eddie Smith       -        Site Operative

Joan Tatters      -        Customer Liaison Officer

Our work will start Monday and this will include setting up the compound and as Ian stated in is post the more detailed work will commence Tuesday. We know our presence will be awkward however we will try to minimise the disruption as much as possible so we have relocated our site admin offices to the Water Treatment works so as as not to utilise more parking bays.

Oh, just a quick thank you to those of you Ian and I had the pleasure of meeting last Friday during our door knocking in the village. Crikey it was a very chilly morning, that said it introduced me to a beautiful part of Northumberland.

We will be updating the portal most weeks so please feel free to ask any questions you may have, alternatively Michael and his team are more than happy any queries you may have.

Thank you in advance of the work, I will be out and about keeping you updated as well so please feel free to come and say Hello!

Hi,

Thanks to everyone who came along to our information session on the 9th January. It was great to see you there, speaking to our project team and finding out more about the scheme, and how it affects you.

We had several plans showing the extent of the works on display, the plan attracting most interest was the one indicating the parking restrictions. This plan has been posted on the Planned works Tab and can be viewed in the "downloads Section", if you click on the drawing it will load onto your computer. A copy of this plan is also in the window of the post office and on the Parish Notice board.

Mott MacDonald Bentley will commence work on Monday establishing the compound set up. The trenchless installation of the rising main will start on Tuesday, the seven parking bays where the drive and reception pit will be excavated will be fenced off on Monday. The small trees along the riverside walk east of St Lawrence Terrace will be removed tomorrow.

We will continuing to work with the highways team at Northumberland County Council and will let you know if you are going to be directly affected by the work. I would like to thank you in advance for your patience and understanding while we carry out this work. If you have any queries please feel free to contact me via this portal or by ringing our Customer Contact Centre on 0345 717 1100. I will be pleased to help.

Many Thanks

Ian

Good morning all

I hope you have had a great Christmas and New Year.

Just a quick reminder that our drop in event will be taking place today between 2pm and 6pm in the War Memorial Hall. Drawings of the proposal will be available for review, it’s an opportunity to meet the project team who will be able to answer any questions or concerns you may have. I indicated in my last letter that these works were planned to commence on the 22nd January, I must apologise the start date has slipped a week, the works will now commence on the 29th January.

If you can spare a little time it would be great to meet you, we look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks

Ian

Hi

I hope you all remain well and are looking forward to the festive period.

You may remember I wrote to you in October providing more information on the project and asking for your views on the planned work . We are keen to continue our engagement with the community and will continue to keep you up to date with progress throughout the works.

It is our intention, together with our supply partner Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB), to commence this £700,000 of investment work on Monday 22 January 2018, we anticipate completion by Friday 18 May 2018.

This essential work will consist of a sewer diversion within the riverside path between St Lawrence Terrace and the Gatehouse along with the installation of a new pumped main in Dial Place. This main will connect into the existing combined sewer on Bridge Street and we will be constructing a short section of localised river bank re-enforcement in front of the Stanners Pumping Station to protect it from river erosion.

I would like to take the opportunity to show you the work we are planning. The project team are hosting an open-day to present our proposals. This will be held in the War Memorial Hall, on 9 January 2018 between 2pm and 6pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

I have posted a copy of the letter and accompanying plans on the planned works page, within the downloads section. Please review these at your leisure, should you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

From all of us on the project team I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and all those who are special to you a merry Christmas and a happy and fulfilling 2018

Many Thanks

Ian

Hello Everyone

Just thought I would touch base with you all to confirm that we will be undertaking some additional ground investigation work on Thursday (16th) which may last up to two days.

We will be onsite undertaking windowless sampling. This is a geotechnical investigation which will allow the engineering team to assess the ground conditions within the vicinity of the proposed working areas. The drilling rig will be mounted on rubber tracks and disturbance will be minimal. Upon completion the bore holes will be reinstated back to the original condition.

It will be necessary to suspend two or three of the parking bays in the central section of the Dial Place parking area. Cones will be put out on Wednesday evening to ensure we can gain unrestricted access on Thursday Morning. A plan showing the borehole locations is posted on the Planned Works tab.

I would like to thank you in advance for your patience and understanding while we carry out this work. If you have any queries please feel free to contact me via this portal or by ringing our Customer Contact Centre on 0345 717 1100. I will be pleased to help.

Kind Regards

Ian

Just a quick note to confirm that trail hole work will commence tomorrow on the riverside footpath between The Stanners and The Gatehouse. Three excavations will be undertaken to establish ground conditions and foundation depths. We anticipate the work to be completed within a couple of days with the footpath and riverbank reinstated back to the original condition on completion

Hello Everyone

I am Ian Davison Northumbrian Waters Project Manager and I will be looking after this scheme through to its completion.

Northumbrian Water are committed to providing high quality service to our customers and have commenced a study of the sewer network in Warkworth to ensure that it continues to serve your community effectively, improving the environment that we want to protect.

As the project develops I will keep you informed about our investigations and the work we are considering by sharing our proposals with you. I am very interested to understand your views about these proposals and how we can minimise any disruption you and your community may experience once work is underway.

The team will post regular updates throughout the project and if you have any queries or want to make us aware of any additional assistance you require from us  then please use the ‘Contact us’ button at the top of this page or post on this feed.

If you prefer a telephone conversation or require any further information or advice please contact our Customer Centre on 0345 717 1100 or visit www.nwl.co.uk to request a call back from the project team.

You may have already noted surveying teams in the village and along the riverside path gathering topographical data. In the coming weeks you may see a gang onsite for a day or two undertaking hand / machine dug trial holes to assess existing structures along the riverside footpath. Three small holes will be excavated and we will take this opportunity to gather geotechnical investigation which will allow the engineering team to assess the soil conditions within which the sewer installation work may be undertaken. Care will be taken to ensure minimal disturbance and upon completion the land will be reinstated back to the original condition.
