Murton Flooding

Together with our supply partner, ESH-MWH, we have undertaken a detailed study of the sewer network to establish the cause of flooding in the area. We want to keep you informed about our investigations and work we are considering in the Woods Terrace area.

Project updates

Update by Stephen Bennison

Hi everybody,

work continues installing the new drainage along both stephens road and metcalfe crescent. As mentioned last time we have now partially opened metcalfe crescent with access from wellfield road. The work on stephens road is ongoing and we will continue to temporary reinstate this as we progress. We will be finished on metcalfe crescent next week and will move onto works within wellfield road. This will involve us using traffic lights with a partial closure.

Hi everyone,

As mentioned in Tony's last update things have returned to normal on site now with all the snow gone. we are working in both areas again and things are progressing well. we have now reached the junction of metcalfe crescent / wellfield road and will be placing temporary tarmac reinstatment on monday. The fencing will come down allowing access from wellfield road and we will set up at the bottom end of metcalfe crescent to complete a small section of works. The section of works on stephens road will also have temporary tarmac placed on monday and the fencing moved onto the next section of work.

enjoy the weekend

Hi Everyone

Following last week's brush with The Beast From The East, you'll be pleased to see that we are back on site today! Obviously the weather knocked us back a little, but we will now resume where we were and hopefully make good progress.

On Metcalf Crescent, we will soon reach the junction with Wellfield Road. When we do, we will temporarily resurface there and return to the other end of the block to complete the section that we left. I've spoken to those immediately affected by the fencing this morning and explained this.

I'm sure Steve will be providing a progress update later in the week so I look forward to hearing from him!

Take Care

Tony

Happy Friday!

I hope everyone is enjoying our Spring weather?

As you may of guessed the site has remained closed since Davids post.  We are hoping to return to site on Monday and progress with our works.  Let us all hope that 'the beast' and 'storm Emma' have both dissappeared by then.

Have a great weekend and stay safe.

Good Morning

Unfortunately the cold weather yesterday prevented us from making any progress, our concrete suppliers plant had frozen ! It’s going to be the same today, many of us our unable to make it to site and the conditions will also make our works hazardous.

We apologise for the delayed progress but will make our best endeavours to catch the time up when the weather improves.

Happy Monday!

I need to apologise for the delay in posting, I was hoping to do this on Friday but had a few technical issues.

However Monday is a new day, and this is a new week so I am feeling positive :)

I do hope everyone is prepared for the bad weather we are expecting this week.  No one wants snow in March!!?!?

Last week our site team were busy.  I went and spoke to numerous residents last week and listened to all your concerns.  We had a road cleaner out but this still did not work, so to alleviate the issue the site have put further stone down in the compound, creating a hard stand.  To do this we did have to take a delivery which caused further dirt.  This has now been removed.  I have posted a photo of the site to provide you with a visual.  We are also going to be closing the gate to stop vehicles entering by accident.  There will be a wheel wash and a person responsible for this at the gate.

I hope this gives you all confidence that we are listening to our customers.

On another note, we promised the residents of  Wood Terrace last year a new bench and dog waste bin.  We were finally able to install these last week and I have taken some photos.  I hope you all enjoy the new bench.

See you all soon

Good afternoon

I have been down to site today and discussed the road near to the compound. The weather has not helped our plea so the team are putting further mitigation into place. Today more stone has been laid in the compound to reduce the dirt. At the end of next week we will also close the gates to the compound to reduce traffic.

In other news, our drainage work continues in Metcalfe crescent and Stephens Road. After a slow start we are now making good progress.

Have a great weekend and lets hope for better weather.

Good morning,

Some of our customers will of received letters last week requesting that cars are moved tomorrow, Wednesday 14 February 2018.

As with many construction sites the roads have suffered from our works and local residents have been extremely patient, however we have listened to your concerns.  Our site team have organised for an industrial cleaner to remove the dirt from the area of Webb Avenue.

The clean will start after 9am and continue throughout the day.  Cars will not need to removed from the street completely, it is just to allow the machine to clean the road beneath.

Thank you for you understanding.

Hi everyone,

you may have noticed works have started on metcalfe crescent this week, this section of work is progressing nicely and we will continue working up metcalfe crescent and onto wellfield road in the coming weeks. unfortunately the section on stephens road has been slightly more challenging, you will have noticed we keep starting the works here then stopping again, this has been due to circumstances beyond our control. we will be back on this section on monday / tuesday next week and once back the works will be continuous. we appreciate your patience while we have encountered these issues and will endeavour to complete these works at our earliest possible convenience.

all the best for the weekend

steve and the site team.
