Together with our supply partner, ESH-MWH, we have undertaken a detailed study of the sewer network to establish the cause of flooding in the area. We want to keep you informed about our investigations and work we are considering in the Woods Terrace area.

Project updates

Update by David Player

The works to install the connections from Stephens Road to the fields to the rear is progressing but not as quickly as we hoped we have had to change our methodology this week to varying ground conditions. As a result the road closure will reamain in place at its current location for a number of further weeks. We apoligise for any incovienence this may cause be we will make our best endevours to reduce disruption at all times.

Please also note the closure of the lane to allow the installation of new field drains.

Have a good weekend

Hi Everyone

I have been to site this afternoon, trying to inform those impacted by our next stage of work. Next Monday(13 November 2017), we will start working on the lane to the North of Stephens Road. This will involve a road closure for up to two weeks. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. It is a very narrow road so turning may be difficult. Please see the attached the letter that I distributed today which will provide a more accurate location.

Good afternoon,

I just wanted to post a quick update to let the local residents know that the road closure on Stephens Road will remain closed at that point up until the week commencing the 18 December 2017.  We were hoping to start the rolling road closure but this has been delayed due to ground conditions whilst carrying out our current works.  Week commencing the 18 December our site team will temporarily reinstate the road and remove the fencing to allow the road to be reopened over the Christmas and New Year holidays.

We have delivered a letter today to local residents impacted by this closure.  Tony Birkett will be calling in on residents over the next few weeks up until Christmas to ensure everyone is happy and up to speed with our works.

Thanks for you understanding whilst we carry out our works

Good morning everyone,

We had a quick catch up on site yesterday morning to discuss our progress.  So I thought we could try something a little different and let some of the team introduce themselves to you all.  We will be updating local residents in writing this week with our progress and the portal will be updated later this week.  Please enjoy our short video of introductions

Hi everyone,

well we managed to get the drainage pipes through the bad ground after sucessfully de watering the area, this work now continues through forest lodge and we are heading towards the rear of 14/15 stephens road. This is the point where we are using the directional drilling (augor bore ) method  to get us between the properties and out into stephens road, which is continuing to go well. we have now concreted all the chambers and we are currently removing all the temporary works and backfilling, once complete we will place the lids on all three chambers.

enjoy the weekend

Hi everyone,

we have encountered some difficult ground conditions on site lately in the form of running sand (photos attached) so this slowed us down for a week while we de watered the area. This involved drilling to a depth of 5 metres and installing pipes so we could pump all the water out of the ground to enable us to install the drainage. we are currently working on the last of the three concrete chambers and hope to pour the concrete walls next week. I have attached a short video showing the directional drilling (auger bore) works which allows us to install pipework without actually digging.

Hi everybody,

Following on from Christene's earlier post with regards to the new bench to be installed at Woods Terrace, the replacement bench has now arrived and will be installed in the coming weeks along with a new dog litter bin. As posted last time we have now started working in stephens road and have diversions in place, which hopefully isn't causing too much disruption. The drainage works leading up to stephens road are progressing nicely, and we continue with building the concrete chambers. Lets hope this rain dissapears for the weekend and we see some sunshine.

Happy Wednesday!

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce to our customers, our ESH-MWH 'Health & Safety Junior Champions', Caitlin (8) and Joseph (10).

Both our champions live in the area and are impacted by our works.  They attend St Josephs Primary School and participated in our Health & Safety poster competition.

Their job is to report to me any problems they may see with regards to our site team or health & safety in the area, which I am sure they will do very well.

Welcome to the team Joseph and Caitlin, we look forward to working with you :-)

Update by Stephen Bennison

Hi everyone,

we have now completed the temporary access track and compound storage area into the field directly behind stephens road. This has been put in for when we start installing drainage up the estate roads. And we are continuing with building the three concrete chambers as i mentioned in my last update due to the work involved these take time to complete. The guys are currently installing more drainage on site at the moment but much smaller pipes now 450mm, to connect back into the existing system.

thanks
