Murton Flooding

Together with our supply partner, ESH-MWH, we have undertaken a detailed study of the sewer network to establish the cause of flooding in the area. We want to keep you informed about our investigations and work we are considering in the Woods Terrace area.

Project updates

Update by Christine Taylor

Woods Terrace, Murton

I just wanted to give a quick update with regards to the new bench and dog waste bin for the grassed area at Woods Terrace.  We are aware that we advised this would be in position for this month, however we have hit a problem.

The bench which we ordered was stolen from our site on Stephens Road.  The police are aware of the incident and are investigating.

A new bench has been ordered and should be with us by October.

I apologise for the delay

Update by Stephen Bennison

Hi everyone,

last time i posted we had started digging to form the swale, these works are now complete and i have attached some photos for you to see. The road diversion we had in place for these works to be carried out has now been removed, this involved the closure of the lane to the rear of Stephens Road / Station Estate North. We are continuing with building the three concrete chambers, this takes time due to the amount of work involved, but is continuing to progress as we would want it to. The next phase of works involves us putting in a temporary stone access track  in the field directly behind Stephens Road where we will set up a small compound for works in the area. i will provide further updates as things progress.

thanks

steve and the site team

Hi everybody,

we have now started digging for the swale ( storm water outfall ) in the fields to the rear of stephens road, lets hope the sun keeps shining and everything stays dry, Also we are currently working on installing the 450mm pipes through the field which eventually connects into the swale. The works to the rear of Webb Avenue where we are installing the large diameter pipes are continuing to progress and we now have joiners and steel fixers on site for the construction of the concrete chambers, which are also  coming along nicely. ( photos attached )

enjoy the weekend everybody and lets hope the sunshine lasts

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

I was on site at Murton this morning for a progress meeting and noticed that the road on Webb Avenue was a little dirty. I then had a comment from a resident this afternoon about the same issue. I've since spoken to the site team who are aware of the issue and promised that they have this in hand. We use a road sweeper on a daily basis to try to keep on top of the worst of it. As you can see, the weather at the moment isn't great which is compounding the issues. Rest assured, we'll do our best to keep on top of it

Enjoy your week

Tony

Hi everybody,

you may have noticed the weather has finally given us the break we needed to finish the landscaping/seeding works in the area. Hopefully this will be nice and green in the coming weeks. Upon my visit to site today i did notice the landscape contractor had left behind a small pile of stones/rocks, i will organise for these to be removed.

enjoy the weekend everybody

Good morning,

I wanted to give you all an update on the Woods Terrace site.

Our local residents should of all received letters last week providing information of where we are up to and what we have left to do.

Our landscaping team have been tirelessly working hard to grass seed the area where we constructed the tank.  Due to weather conditions this has been difficult; they are trying really hard to get this completed by the end of this week.  Let’s keep our fingers crossed for some British sunshine.

The project team after listening to some local residents have ordered a new dog waste bin and bench for the area, which should be in place by the end of August.  However for now, we have put the old ones back up to ensure local residents have the benefit of both.

You will remember we removed some trees from the area, we will be planting 6 new trees in October 2017 to replace them.

We will keep you updated with any other changes, please feel free to contact me direct to discuss further.

Christine
