Good morning,
I wanted to finish the year on a happy cheerful note.
This week I visited our Junior Health and Safety champions, Caitlin and Joseph. They were very excited for Christmas and happy to see our fencing and road closure removed for the festive period. Whilst I was there, I was given a story which they had written for me about our Health and Safety mascot, Dudley. With it being Christmas I thought it would be lovely to share the story with you all.
Thank you Caitlin and Joseph for being fabulous, I hope Santa is very kind to you this year.
We also wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and all the best for the new year. We hope you enjoyed our Christmas video last week.
If there are any issues over the festive period please contact 03457 171100, this is a 24 hour number. During working hours (except weekends and bankholidays) I will be available to assist with any queries.
See you all in 2018.
Christine
Here is the story!!! Please enjoy

Dudley (an elephant) was a very busy worker. But today he had a day off. Read on and see the disastrous adventure that awaits....
It was a peaceful day when Dudley just sat down at his desk in his study. Suddenly, a big yellow tractor drove past his clear window. But Dudley carried on with the paper work. Dudley couldn't bear it. He had to do it. He had to go outside and tell his friends about the loud racket they were making. But as he opened the door a big long crack greeted him at his doorstep.
"Goodness me!!" Dudley exclaimed.
Just then the workmen came to see what the fuss was about. " Don't worry, we'll fix that in a jiffy!" one of the workmen replied.
Dudley sighed and strode into the kitchen to make himself a nice warm cup of tea and some biscuits. He was just finishing his last biscuit when he heard a loud creaking sound " I wonder what that could be now?" he complained.
He looked out of the clear window and saw a crane lifting some big, long, grey pipes. He watched as pipes were lifted high into the air and then lowered in front of his house. All of a sudden the chain snapped and Dudley took a big gulp as the pipes rolled toward his house.
The workmen panicked with fear, as the pipes kept on rolling. When one of the workmen shouted to the top of their lungs "DANGER, STOP!!!"
The workmen waved their arms frantically as Dudley was frozen into his spot like a statue. He watched helplessly as the pipe flattened his fence and kept going on. As Dudley took his first step, he let out a loud whimper as the pipe squished his prized flowers.
The pipe kept on rolling as another one started following it. "QUICK, GET THE DUMPER TRUCK!!" one of the frantic workman squealed. The dumper truck was parked right in front of Dudley's house (fixing the crack) as the pipe came to a halt in front of his door. Dudley wiped his forehead with his palm and said 'PHEW!"
Everybody leaped with joy as Dudley came out of his front door to see the crack fixed. "What's going to happen with my fence and garden??" Dudley asked in frustration.
"Don't worry about it, we'll sort it out soon" said the foreman.
"It'll be all under control and trust me it will be as good as new."
Dudley thought to himself, "I'm never going to get my paperwork done in time, I need another cup of tea!"
Thankfully by bedtime, Dudley had managed to finish his paperwork. As he closed he curtains, he stared down at his lovely new fence.
