Murton Flooding

Together with our supply partner, ESH-MWH, we have undertaken a detailed study of the sewer network to establish the cause of flooding in the area. We want to keep you informed about our investigations and work we are considering in the Woods Terrace area.

Project updates

Update by Christine Taylor

Hi

As I mentioned last week the winners of our poster competition visited site on Friday.

It was great to see them all, both staff and pupils are a credit to St Jospehs RC School.  Brilliant artwork from each of our winners.

The posters are currently displayed on our fencing and will be until the end of the project.  If you are in the area please take time out to have a look.

Thank you once again Jasmine, Zoe, Kate and Sophie for your posters, and the staff for taking the time to visit us.

Hi everyone,

It's time for the weekly update again, things are going well with digging out for the storm tank and the weather has been a great help with this. The site team have made a decision to work this saturday morning to take advantage of the weather and enable us to finish digging out a little earlier than expected. We won't have wagons coming in and out of the site though so any disruption will be minimal and no works will be carried out after 14.00 hrs. We really appreciate your patience and understanding while we carry out these works. And as with the tank all other parts of the scheme are continuing to progress nicely.

hope you all have a lovely weekend

Steve

Hi

I thought I would take a moment to share a photo of our Contracts Manager Dave Player.  He was originally on our team but seemed camera shy.

Not anymore, please see attached photo.  As previously stated, Dave will be on site regularly and is always happy to help.  Please feel free to go and see him for any assistance.

On another note, I was on site on Friday afternoon speaking to a few residents about the area where we have our compound.  Just to put all your minds at ease we will reinstate the area when we leave site.

Thanks

Christine

Hi everybody,

well the sun is shining, could summer be here allready? lets hope so. I just wanted to give you an update on our progress this week. we have now finished installing the sheet piles so you should notice a significant difference in noise levels from now on. Next week we will be starting to dig out for the storm water tank so you may notice the number of wagons in and out of site will increase as we carry out these works. The drainage works at the rear of woods terrace continue, and this is going well.

lets hope the weekend is as nice as the week has been so far and enjoy it everybody.

hi everyone,

Just wanted to give you all a mid week update on our progress so far. As mentioned in my last update the drainage works have started this week although we are working at a steady pace at the moment due to the amount of existing services within this location. The works to form the working platform are now complete so the number of wagons going to and from site will be a lot less untill we start the tank excavation on the 6th March.  The next phase of the works is to install the temporary works for the storm tank, this will start on monday and involves driving sheet piles into the ground. This may be a lottle noisy at times but we will do all we can to keep this to a minimum. i will provide further updates as we progress.

Hi everyone,

As mentioned in Christine's last post we closed a small section of the road to the rear of Woods Terrace on Monday, this gave us the opportunity to dig and locate existing services before we start installing the new drainage, which will start on monday 20th february. You will have noticed a high volume of traffic (mainly wagons) in and out of the site this week as we have been very busy establishing our site compound and setting up the site offices. This will continue again next week as we dig out the clay and replace it with stone to form a solid working platform. I will keep you posted with further updates next week.

Enjoy the sunshine this weekend everybody and maybe a BBQ ?

Hi

Just a reminder, as of Monday the rolling road closure will begin on the lane to the rear of Woods Terrace.  This will mean that small sections of the lane will be closed for short periods of time.  The rolling road closure will begin on the 13 February 2017 and completed a the north end of the road in June 2017.

We will begin by closing the section of road on Monday 13 February, near to the junction of Western Terrace South.  The part of the works should be completed within 4 weeks, we will then progress to the next section.

Our site team will contact customers if they are impacted by the works.  We will strive to ensure access into garages etc as the work progresses, any problems Steve Bennison is on site and is more than happy to help.

Have a lovely weekend and we will see you next week.
