New Moors STW Upgrade

Starting in February 2024, as part of a £4.3 million scheme, we will be carrying out essential work to improve the performance of our New Moors wastewater treatment works in Evenwood Gate. The scheme will help to improve the water quality of Hummer Beck, as well as the watercourses downstream.

Hello, The civil works on site are now complete for all the process installations, and final minor civil works should be completed by the end of January 2025. We are now dosing chemicals into supply with sampling and monitoring for the Environmental Agency. There are then some additional works to complete on site which involves an old tank to be refurbished, which will complete in early 2025.

Hello, Civil works at New Moors is now nearing completion with the new delivery road being the last major civil milestone remaining. Site will now be concentrating on the mechanical and electrical installations; these have begun and are approximately 50% complete. The first chemical delivery will be taken next month and commissioning will commence.

Hello, We are happy to let you know that progress on site continues to planned programme dates. We have now taken delivery of the tertiary solids removal equipment as seen in the picture, and this is the last of the major equipment now delivered to site. The main focus is now on the civil works to do in preparation for the mechanical and electrical installations which is due to start in July, with much of the below ground works now being complete.

Hello, Another milestone in the activities taking place at the New Moors site, are the taking of delivery of two dosing kiosks on Tuesday 7th May. These look similar to the picture below. The kiosks are around the same width as the normal construction traffic that’s currently using the lane (a little wider than a UK caravan) and approximately 4m tall. The kiosks/their delivery may take a little more time to navigate down the lane but should not cause any inconvenience to residents.

Hello, Site is now well established, and civil works have started. This has begun with the groundworks required to get the new chemical dosing kiosks on site which are due around the first week in May 24. Along with this, excavations are being made to sink three new pumping station on site.

My name is Jane Cooper, and I am the Customer Experience Coordinator for Galliford Try. Our Project Manager is Mark Goodby. The work is starting as planned and the site setup will commence on Feb 26th with site cabins arriving on the 4th of March. The first construction works on site are planned for the 11th of March, and we will be reducing the ground levels for the start of the civil works to the new tertiary treatment and chemical dosing kiosk locations.
