Rosehill Road, Willington Quay

Northumbrian Water is looking to improve the resilience and enhance the performance of the sewer network in the Willington catchment. We are proposing the construction of a new sewer overflow at the rear of Marina View, this work will be undertaken within the fenced off compound with site access taken from Rosehill Road. We will also be increasing the size of short sections of the existing sewer within Rosehill Road.

Planned Work

WHERE WE WILL BE WORKING AND WHAT IT WILL INVOLVE

To ensure that our sewer network continues to serve the community effectively we are investigating an option which will see the construction of a new sewer overflow at the rear of Marina View. A mechanical screen will be installed within this new below ground structure, some upsizing of the existing overflow sewer within Dilston Grange will be required. The new overflow  will be constructed within the existing fenced off compound with site access  taken from Rosehill Road. Lane closures will be required for the short sections of sewer upsize within Dilston Grange.

These works are currently planned to commence in the Summer of 2019. We will be writing to customers asking them for their views on our proposals, and how we can minimise any impact.
