Hi everyone,

I have decided to move away from Ocean Road compound and have a look at Roker.

The site team at Roker have been working very hard to get the compound ready.  The lads took a 5 minute break to pose for a photo, to allow introductions.

Please meet our site team, Vince, Bernie, Kevin and David. Our machine driver is Mark and the site supervisor Stuart.

More photos will follow next week showing how they are getting on with the compound.

Have a great weekend

Christine

Hi again

I thought this would be a good time to introduce two more gentlemen who will be working in the area of Ocean Road compound.

Steve Boyd is our Project Manager for the project, he will be working on site throughout the duration of the work; overseeing the daily operations of the scheme delivery.  Working closely with Steve on site is our Site Agent, Paul Jones who will be assisting Steve with the daily operations around the site.

The photos was taken at their previous site where they delivered an excellent project.

If you see them around the area please feel free to introduce yourself and ask any questions.

See you all soon

Christine

Update by Dave Groark

Hi everyone,

As you can see from Christine's posts, we are busy setting up our working areas at Seaburn, Roker Baths Road and also on the riverside between Bonnersfield and the University of Sunderland's St. Peter's Campus.  You might have also seen us working near to Fulwell Road where we've been excavating trial pits on the old Redby School site and the old railway line near Laburnum Road.

You can see a plan of where we'll be working here

Enjoy your day

Dave

Good afternoon

I thought it would be good to share these photos of our guys setting up the compound at Seaburn.  As you can see, Gary, our foreman is working hard along with his operatives, Dan, Chris and Connor.  The gentleman driving the machine is Jimmy, who has the best job on site in my opinion.

It seems the weather is being kind and the sun is shining.

We will keep you all posted

Christine

Update by Christine Taylor

Good morning,

I thought this would be a good time to introduce myself.

My name is Christine Taylor, the Customer Service Manager working for ESH-MWH on behalf of Northumbrian Water. I have already had the pleasure of meeting some members of the local community and over the period of the works you may see me walking around the area with the project team. Please feel free to come and introduce yourself and ask any questions you may have, alternatively you can post messages here on the portal.

As you should all be aware over the next 52 weeks we will be working in four different areas; Roker, Seaburn, St Peters and Boldon Flatts.  Over the next week I will be introducing our site teams on the portal.

Today is a big day!

On Roker Baths Road our team, led by Scott Jackson, will be on site today, setting up the compound on the grassed area opposite the New Derby Public House.  Last Friday I met many of the residents in the area to discuss the compound and everyone was extremely friendly.   When the site is established, a Customer Centre will be open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.

Over in Seaburn, my colleague Steve Boyd will be setting up another compound on the grassed area behind Morrisons.  Myself and Steve, met many of the businesses last week to discuss any concerns.  Whilst on site we were lucky enough to meet many of the local residents walking their dogs, who were very friendly.  We want to reassure the local community that pathways around the compound area will be established to ensure disruption to daily routines is minimised.  During the course of last week, I also spent time speaking to some of the local residents, ensuring residents were informed of the works in the area.

I will provide an updates for the other sites as the week goes on, along with our team introductions.

Enjoy your week,

Christine
