Hi Everyone

Good News!! As I'm sure you noticed, we permanently reinstated the the junction of Midfield Drive with Roker Baths Road this afternoon. The road will now be back to lights free - I'm sure this is a relief for everyone!

Hi Everyone

We have a busy week next week and I was out and about earlier this week trying to inform those impacted by the work of what we will be doing.

On Monday 6 November 2017 we will return to the junction of Midfield Drive with Roker Baths Road. We need connect the network to the new pipes we laid in Roker Baths Road. This will be managed by 3 way lights initially but will change slightly as we progress to give traffic on Roker Baths Road priority which should help to reduce delays. Please find a copy the letter regarding this here.

The same day we also start reinstating on the sea front at Whitburn. This work should have minimal impact as it is on the footpath. Please find a copy of the letter regarding this here.

Work in both locations should be completed within 2 weeks.

Hope you have a nice weekend

Hi everyone,

I visited site today to attend a progress meeting and thought it would be a great idea to grab Dave Groark, the Project Manager from Northumbrian Water away from the meeting and give you all an update.

Please forgive the coughing in the background and be assured the man in question has been treated by a medical professional :)

Thanks for your time today Dave, it was much appreciated.

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

I have been out and about in Roker today trying to notify residents of our work starting in Association Road. On Thursday 28 September 2017 we will return to Association Road to complete our work there. It will be necessary to close the road at the junction with Roker Bath Road as far as the first lane on the left. The work will take 2 weeks to complete in total

As you will no doubt be aware, the Sunderland Illuminations starts next Thursday (5 October), so we will need to remove the road closure for this and then return to complete the work at a later date. I will notify you of that date nearer the time. Rest assured, the road will be left in a safe condition when we temporarily remove the road closure.

Please find attached the letter distributed today here

Please avoid parking in the red shaded area on the plan which is shown in the letter from 08:00 on Thursday 28 September 2017.

Thanks

Tony

I was in the area yesterday letting residents know about our work in Ashdale Court, which starts on Monday 25 September 2017. We will be working he at the junction with Roker Baths Road for 2 weeks. This means that three way traffic lights will be in place. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please find a copy of the letter distributed here.

We will be carrying out some reinstatements next week:

On the footpath on Roker Park Road at the junction with Glenthorpe Avenue, we will be tarmacing on 26/09/17.

We will also be reinstating in Park Parade on 27/09/17 - 29/09/17. Please find a copy of the letter distributed here.

Neither of these will require road closures.

Hope you all have a nice weekend

HI Everyone

As we begin to near the end of the work in Roker, we have a lot going on!

Work carries on up Roker Baths Road and we will start work on the final stretch there on Monday 4 September 2017 when work will be at the junction with Forster Street and Hampden Road. This means access to those two roads from Roker Baths Road will not be possible. The work here on Roker Baths Road will take no more than 2 weeks. I was in the area trying to notify local residents of this work this week, a copy of the letter we delivered can be found here.

We are also working in Roker Park Road at the junction with Glenthorpe Avenue. As you will have seen, we have been working in the footpath there lately and need to continue into the road. This will mean that we will need to close the road at this location on Sunday 3 September 2017 and Sunday 10 September 2017 only. This is to cause minimum disruption. I have also been out trying to inform local residents of this work, and a copy of the letter can be found here.

Additionally we are carrying out some reinstatement work in the lane between Primrose Cottages and Primrose Crescent on Friday 1 September 2017. This work should be complete within one working day. I was in the area notifying local residents about this last week and a copy of this letter is found here.

I've attached a couple of photos showing where we are currently working.

Hope you enjoy your weekend

Tony
