Project updates

Update by Scott Jackson

Hello everyone,

Just a quick update for the St Peter's section of the works.

The previously built tank now requires connecting to the live drainage network. This is achieved by the construction of a 5m Internal Diameter shaft directly onto the existing drainage line. Works are now ongoing (see photo). The shaft will be approximately 7 to 8m deep once complete.

Many Thanks

Scott

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

I've been to site today to get an update on progress of the ongoing work in Roker. As you we know, we are still making our way up Roker Baths Road and will son be moving further up the road. On Friday 4 August 2017 we will swap the lane closure to the other side of the road and move the fencing along the road. This means that the parking bays on that side of the road will not be accessible while we complete this stretch. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. The work will be completed within 6 weeks. I have been in the area trying to inform the affected residents of the work - please find a copy of this letter here, including a plan of the area in question.

Work also progresses along Ripon Street as far as Beatrice Street. We wrote to those affected on 3 July 2017 explaining that work was due to start on 10 July2017 and that it would finish within 6 weeks. Due to unforeseen circumstances, this timescale is now delayed and will now be completed by Friday 8 September 2017. Also, please note, the fencing currently in place won't go any further than the junction with Beatrice Street. Please find a copy of this letter here.

We're getting close to the end now, it won't be too long!

Hope you all have a good week

Tony

Hi Everyone

As you will no doubt be well aware, its the Sunderland Airshow this weekend.

As a result, we worked with the council to ensure that we caused as little disruption as possible and we have temporarily suspended our work. We have taken away all traffic management and temporarily filled all holes. Work will pick up where we left off on Monday.

I hope you all enjoy the Airshow, its usually a great weekend, so I have no doubt this year will be no different - details can be found here: http://www.sunderland.gov.uk/airshow

Hello All,

Significant rain fall over the last few weeks unfortunately has slowed down production, despite every effort to progress as planned. I've attached a few photos showing some of our work areas during one of the recent rain storms.

Many Thanks
