Good morning,

Just a quick update;

Roker Baths Road

After a number delays occurring over the last few weeks, mainly existing uncharted buried services, works are now progressing towards Midfield Drive. Please keep checking the traffic information section for the latest updates.

St Peters

Earthworks have been completed, this now returns the site back to its original profile. Landscaping will follow in the coming weeks, and the bulk of the site should return back to green thereafter. Further works are required adjacent to the university car park to connect the new tank to the existing sewer network.

Boldon Flats

Only final reinstatements are required to complete this section of works (topsoil, fence line repairs, etc). The swale (Cut Throat Dene) is now being constructed.

Thanks

Scott

Laburnum Road

Hi everyone

What a glorious day it is! I've been out and about trying to speak to residents in Laburnum Road and did manage a catch a few of you. AS you can see, we've been reinstating the road in the street now that we've finished our work. We had hoped to finish completely by close of business today but due to unforeseen circumstances that won't happen now. We will finish on Tuesday now. However, we are very aware that its a Bank Holiday weekend so we will be allowing restricted access for residents. Here's a copy of the letter I delivered to residents.

I hope you enjoy the Sun

Laburnum Road

Hi everyone

Last week we promised that we would permanently reinstate the tarmac on Laburnum Road this week. As those with a keen eye will have noticed, and probably those who are less observant as well, this didn't happen! We were delayed due to unforeseen circumstances in Primrose Crescent - even the best laid plans go to waste occasionally!

I tried to speak to those directly affected yesterday to explain in person, but most were at work so I left letters instead.

We will be in touch in the near future to advise when we will be back

Have a lovely weekend

Tony

Good morning,

Isn't it great to see the sun out?

Maybe summer is finally on its way...

I thought I would take the time to point out the 'Rate this project' feature on this portal on the right hand side of the screen.

It would be great if you could take the time to let us know how we are doing?

We will update the portal with our work later this week.

Enjoy the sunshine

Christine

Hello Everyone

Earlier this week I was out in the area informing customers of the permanent reinstatments in Primrose Crescent and Laburnum Road. We said in our letters that reinstatements would start on Monday 8 May 2017, however the team have been delayed slightly and are still working the Roker Park area. We're working hard to ensure that this weekend's Sunderland 10k runners have some tarmac to run on in the park!

I've attached a copy of the letters sent to Primrose Crescent and Laburnum Road, but the new dates are:

Primrose Crescent - Tuesday 9 May 2017 and Wednesday 10 May 2017

Laburnum Road - Thursday 11 May 2017 and Friday 12 May 2017.

I've attached some pictures I've taken today in the sun - its glorious weather today!

Enjoy your weekend

Tony

Hello All,

Just a brief update for you.

Roker Park

We are currently installing 525mm dia pipes within the South West section of the park. All affected footpaths will remain closed during these construction works. Footpaths will be reopened on Friday next week in preparation for the Sunderland 10K Run. Unfortunately once the run is finished then some paths will close again to allow works to be completed.

Roker Baths Road Area

Following big delays (due to uncharted/unexpected buried services) on Roker Baths Road over the last month or so, we now look to be making good progress again. We intend to close junctions at Grantham Road & Brandling Street on Roker Baths Road on 2/5/17 for up to 3 weeks. Bede street will be open tonight and should return back to normal. Further low impacting works will be required in the future. Permanent tarmac reinstatements on Park Parade will be undertaken next week. Could residents please park vehicles with consideration.

Redby

We removed the overgrown hedgerow adjacent to Redby close last week. Works are now underway replacing the footpath and forming the new landscaped area.

St Peters

The main tank construction is now complete. Reinstatements & drainage connections into the tank are still ongoing.

Many Thanks

Scott

Hi Everyone

Roker Baths Road

I've been out around Roker today trying to inform the residents impacted by our work next week. We wrote 2 weeks ago advising that we would be closing the junctions off Roker Baths Road into Brandling Street and Grantham Road, however we found unexpected services in the road so were delayed. We're now in a position to move on, so will reach this area on Tuesday 2 May 2017. The work should take a maximum of three weeks as long as we don't find anything else when we start digging! I've attached a copy of the letter that was delivered here for those of you who didn't receive one.

As ever we'll work as quickly as we can to finish as soon as possible.

Park Parade Permanent Reinstatements

Tuesday is a busy day for us! We also start on the permanent reinstatements in Park Parade. To enable us to do this we will need to close a lane and work under traffic lights. We expect the work to be completely finished within 5 working days but will endeavour to work as quickly as we can to minimise disruption and we apologise for any disruption we do cause. A copy of the letter for those directly impacted is due to be delivered tomorrow but can be found here.

Redby Close

Hi everyone

Recently we've been consulting with residents about The area to the front of Redby Close and how this should be reinstated once our work is finished. We've listened and liaised with the council and will come up with something more suitable. In the meantime, work will start on Tuesday 18 April to pull out the existing bushes. I published plans on 31 March showing proposals for how it would be reinstated, and much of the plan will remain unchanged, however we intend to make one or two minor changes before we finish.

Have a great Easter Weekend

Brandling Street, Givens Street and Grantham Road

Hi everyone

I've been out and about round Roker this week, trying to inform local residents of work due to start on Tuesday 18 April. The work on Roker Baths Road will reach the junctions with Brandling Street and Grantham Road. This will mean that the one way system in Brandling Street will be temporarily suspended. We expect the junctions to be closed for a maximum of 3 weeks but as ever will do our best to finish early.

Please drive safely.

Have a great Easter weekend!

Tony
