Good Afternoon,

As you are aware we have been working in the Newcastle and Tyneside area for a while now.

The project has now reached the east end section of Claremont Road where investigation work of the water network is now underway until Friday 7 June 2019. To ensure a safe working environment, Northumbrian Water and MMB are working closely with Newcastle City Council and have traffic management measures in place. These consist of a lane closure of west bound traffic along Claremont Road from the Queen Elizabeth Road/ Park Terrace roundabout to the A167 slip road roundabout. The traffic management is supervised at all times to ensure traffic continues to flow and keep any disruption to a minimum. The diversion route heads east from the Queen Elizabeth/ Park Terrace roundabout down Claremont Road to the Hancock Museum then back onto the A167 from the Great North Road. The lane closure of Claremont Road and the diversion route will be in place for the duration of the investigation work.

So as to get the work complete as quickly as possible we (MMB) will be working extended hours.

We have experienced some challenges today which hopefully will ease with extra signs and notices from tomorrow morning.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and understanding during this work and ask you are that little more vigilant during this time.

Should you require further details please feel free to contact me by blogging on the portal or privately by using the "contact us" button at the top of the project page.

Good Afternoon,

Just to let you know we will be removing the 3 way traffic lights from Swinley Gardens tomorrow night in time for the Easter weekend and we won't be implementing them after the holidays. However from Tuesday 23rd until 3 May we will introduce a contra-flow system to replace the lights as we need to continue with some excavations on the junction. I will be dropping in letters in the area tomorrow morning with the site team to let our customers know what is happening.

Apologies for the inconvenience and  if you have any questions please ask away.
