Good Afternoon

Just thought I would share the events of Thursday 28th February with you all. We cleaned the "clean water" pipe that had been first installed back in the day (actually 1928), it was once again an innovative method of cleaning by using ice to clean the bore of the pipe, this time it was from the Newcastle side of the bridge and stretched from Swan House roundabout to Gateshead. We commenced working a 7pm and the team along with Northumbrian Water staff were off site by the early hours of the Friday morning.

Have a look at some the photos taken on the evening!

Good Morning

Just an update on our Denton Road site location:-

After doing some further digging both at the bus stop and the location by the sports centre we have encountered a valve which is not working efficiently. We need to address this valve and this means Northumbrian Water will need to conduct some further work to enable us  to have access, unfortunatley this has pushed us back a little on our programme. We now need to excavate a larger area within field adjacent to the sports centre and will be re-directing the footpath, this work will commence later today and the new footpath arrangement will continue until approximately July. Please take that little more extra care if you are in the vicinity and watch out for the new footpath signs.

All that said, to try to minimise the impact and lessen the inconvenience to our customers we are working closely with our colleagues at Northumbrian Water to reduce the duration of our works for the entire project. This means we are currently reviewing the programme/schedule of work and we are hoping to come up with a solution to complete the work sooner than first thought.

Watch this space as I will keep you informed of our progress!
