Following on from my last update I am pleased to report that the sewage works is fully operational and the additional tankering away from the site is no longer required.

Afternoon

We are experiencing some issues with the sewage treatment works (STW) at Ramshaw/ Evenwood and to protect the River Gaunless we have taken the decision to tanker away flows from the STW while the weather is dry.

We began the tankering earlier today and will make every effort to return to normal working practices during week commencing 4^th May.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may cause and to protect the River Gaunless we hope you can appreciate tour decision for the short term approach we have taken.

Just to update you on progress. All 3 sites are now fully commissioned and operational. We are busy closing areas down the best we can. However due to the recent wet weather we are still unable to compete the landscaping. This will be carried out mid-April. The disruption then will be minimal.

We are currently finishing off the 3 sites on the Gaunless project ready for handover to Northumbrian Water operations. Unfortunately the wet weather is still causing issues for us especially the track leading to Butterknowle Sewage Treatment Works please bear with us on this. We will be returning to site as soon as the areas are dry enough to finish work and landscaping will be completed in early spring

Just a quick update before we break up for Christmas.

Cockfield and Ramshaw  – On site works are complete. We are now finalising commissioning work and expect to remove the cabin set at the end of January / early February.

Butterknowle – we are currently back on site carrying out some additional drainage works. Once this is completed we are going to complete the on-site works and upgrade the access track. This will be carried out early January 2020. Commissioning works are currently on-going. We expect to be complete early February.

We finish for Christmas Friday 20th December and return on Monday 6th January.

Hello everyone

We have made really good progress this week closing down the civils work across the Gaunless scheme – especially Ramshaw. As you can see from the photo the site is taking good shape. Once the weather calms down we can complete landscaping.

The electrical and mechanical work is almost complete and the Commissioning is going really well now. We have a good strong team in place now to help us to get everything running smoothly.

Will  update you again on progress over the next few weeks.

The wet weather is causing us big problems across the 3 sites. At Butterknowle, Ramshaw and Cockfield the civil work is complete however we are unable to finish the landscaping works inside and out until areas dry up. We are going to monitor the weather and return at a suitable date. This will include upgrading the access track at Butterknowle.

Electrical and commissioning is proving to be a bit of a challenge at present therefore we will still be around for the next few weeks.

Will keep you informed with progress and a completion date soon.

Hello everyone

We have had a productive week this week and are now starting to finish off areas on the sites. The treatment at Cockfield is going well and we have the chemicals ready to be introduced early next week.

Ramshaw and Butterknowle are not far behind this, electrical installation and commissioning is ongoing making good progress and everything is looking good.

Good afternoon

We have visited all three sites on the Gaunless with  Northumbrian Waters Project engineer today to review progress. It is proving to be a challenge at present closing down the civil engineering work such as concreting and groundwork due to the constant rain but we are getting there. Electrical installation has progressed really well and we have been able to  commission some of the new units to maintain our programme schedule. We will have our first delivery of chemicals on Monday at Cockfield, this will allow us to start closing down the projects and bringing down the phosphorus levels in the disharge water to meet the new Environment Agency standard. We will give you an update on how results are turning out over the next few weeks.

Hello everyone

We are busy putting spoil back to cover our recent working areas. If weather is good to us we will grass seed this year. If not it will be late spring next year.

In the meantime can you please take care passing the 3 sewage works at Cockfield, Butterknowle and Ramshaw as we will have a small number of  wagons coming in and out removing spoil at various times over the next few weeks.

As the weather has now turned we apologise in advance if any mud is spread in areas. We will do our best to keep on top of this.
