Morning,

Just to let you all know that as part of our archaeological surveys which need to be carried out, Archaeological Research Services are planning on flying a drone over the northern grazing field and the arable fields west of Greenford Lane from tomorrow morning.  This drone will be collecting ground height information and taking infra-red images to help in identifying any archaeological features of interest in these fields.

Take care.

Afternoon,

It's come to my attention that my letter dated 18 July didn't include the revised plan.  I apologise that this has happened again, and I can confirm that a further letter will be sent out very shortly, but with the plan!  Please accept our apologies for the confusion.

In the meantime, I've attached the plan to this update post, where the change is in the northern field.  I'll keep you all updated, as there is a chance that the route may change again in this northern field due to various constraints...

Take care.

Colin

Update by Rachel Rutter

Good Afternoon All,

The trial hole investigation work is now coming to an end, allowing us to start pipelaying works on Monday 01 August 2022, we do expect this work to be substantially finished by Friday 31 March 2023.

We previously mentioned that some hedgerows would need to be removed, this work is still going to be completed with the approval from Gateshead Council.

Due to the pipelaying being in several places at once, traffic management will play a large part in order to allow us to complete our work.

There will be the following temporary road closures:

  • 1-14 August 2022 - Ground investigation work
  • 19 September 2022 to 16 October 2022 - Pipelaying

The location of the road closures will be from Haggs Lane/Lamesley Road roundabout to the junction of Haggs lane and Greenford Lane.  Elsewhere, temporary traffic lights will be in place.

Please be assured that we are working closely with our partners to do all that we can to minimise any disruption to you and your community throughout the work.

Please contact us direct if you have any questions at nwl.customer@esh.uk.com or 0191 3774500.

Thank you

Rachel
